The idea is to support a strong start for all children. While all of us, especially our most vulnerable children, are living through the COVID pandemic, escalation of racial injustice, among the realities of our changing climate, and various forms of trauma from all of the above, I ask, are we truly providing the protection urgently needed for our current and next generations to thrive? The environmental exposures that our children are exposed to daily can cause long-term damage to their naturally developing systems. Prioritizing and incorporating these considerations when we evaluate the impact that our homes, early learning and K environments have upon children, along with the much-needed solutions to curb, reduce, and eliminate these threats, is not optional, it is a must.
